Customer photo review of Backfire Spoiler + Brake Lights

ordered on June 6th. started breaking on June 30th. they look REALLY cool, but they're not really built to last. not worth the money, in my opinion.

Backfire Spoiler + Brake Lights

I will add photos later but to keep it short vs the novel Brian wrote about a product he admitted to never using, essentially giving us a rundown of previous reviews and his preconceived notions of what could happen, I love it. It's FUNCTIONAL FOR THOSE OF US WHO RIDE OUR BOARDS and if you can't figure out that you need to take the lights out in order to FIT THE charger into the slot, this might be WAY too complicated for you. If you have issues with screws, nuts, bolts and charging things, who is this just SO complicated. (just in case...i am clearly joking. being facetious is you will)

The brakes and lights were great. I got a lot of looks with the lights and safety was not an issue

Backfire Spoiler + Brake Lights

When my son went to tip his board to pick it up, his foot hit spoiler and broke it. The tail lights were excellent until this happened.

Backfire Spoiler + Brake Lights

I purchased the spoiler and brake lights and installed them myself. I have not used any lights yet since the streets here have enough light and none are necessary. I will point out information I read from other reviewers who purchased this item who stated that they brake quickly and are overpriced. I have not encountered breaking or cracking yet so this feedback does not apply to me as of now. I will mention that the company does not include and assembly instructions for any of their products which is a big negative. Quality products demand quality hard copy instructions and assembly diagrams with no exceptions. This company needs to make this change immediately. Also the rear lights on the spoiler do not show how to charge properly and after I found out that you need to unscrew them from the spoiler to charge each light, I never would have figured this out without reaching out to customer service which is very responsive but closed on the weekends when many ride which is a negative. On an other point regarding the board itself, a future upgrade improvement should focus on the front and rear trucks. My recommendation is that instead of needing a T-Wrench to adjust the tension, a click mechanism is incorporated instead. The reason for this change is critical because when you begin adjusting the front and rear based upon your weight, riding conditions, your style and experience along with the terrain, getting the front and back tension precise is a guess. There is no control on how tight or loose the trucks are other than feel itself. If you begin playing around with tightness adjustments too much then getting to an equal tension is very time consuming and still guesswork. If a click adjustment was included than the rider could set each truck to the same or different number adjustment which would eliminate all guesswork. Making adjustments for riding style would be quick and easy. Maybe one day the rider desires to go fast without turning due to a greater distance needed for travel while on another day the rider wants to carve turns while listening to tunes taking in the scenery. This would allow stiffness control at your fingertips without guesswork and allow the rider to quickly and accurately change from one adjustment riding preference to another. The board rides very well even at high speeds but has enough flex and design curve to offer a solid and smooth ride even over bumpy terrain and the tires not needing air is a big plus. However if you purchase the board and then have to assemble the fenders, without instructions is a very time consuming and very frustrating experience, especially after receiving and wanting to ride immediately. Also getting to where some of the screws need to be applied and tightened is difficult and better left to the company that should assemble for each purchase prior to shipping. The last thing a new customer wants is a long frustrating delay. They want to RIDE ASAP! Overall so far it is a high quality board with more power than you need but no hard copy assembly instructions is a big negative. As of now I would definitely recommend the board and advise everyone to purchase DIRECTLY FROM THE COMPANY AND NOT ON LINE AND ALSO OPT FOR HUB MOTORS VERSUS A BELT DRIVE BOARD. I have owned both and for safety purposes alone, hub engineering is far safer. If for any reason the controller breaks connection with the board even for a millisecond, with a belt drive the board will stop IMMEDIATELY WHILE PROJECTING THE RIDER OFF THE BOARD LINE A MISSILE. With hub motors, if this should happen THE BOARD WULL CONTINUE ROLLING AND YOU WON’T GET THROWN OFF UNEXPECTEDLY. Also if your battery should either die or fail, with hub motors you can use the board as a conventional push board while with a belt drive you can NOT! To all owners and potential buyers, enjoy the ride ✌️
